5 key stats to solidify the case for well-being | Segal Benz

This month, we are wild about well-being—we’re happy to be among the nearly 200 organizations that have pledged to support June as National Employee Wellbeing Month! While our commitment to helping employees live healthier, happier lives continues year-round, well-being gets extra focus this month—and we’d love for your organization to join us. In case you need a little convincing, consider these five key statistics:

  • Poor health costs the U.S. economy $576 billion each year.
  • Employees with access to a workplace wellness program are four times more likely to be inspired by their company culture toward healthy choices.
  • A company is four times more likely to lose talented workers in the next year if employees are not satisfied with wellness promotion—and be left with turnover and replacement costs that can add up to anywhere from 21% to 150% of an employee’s salary, based on skills, experience, and industry.
  • When health and well-being are actively promoted, companies are 2.5 times more likely to be viewed as a top performing organization—and, in fact, are top performers: More than 40% of the companies listed among Fortune magazine’s “America’s 100 Best Companies to Work For” also appear on the Fortune 500.
