Employee Benefit News and NCHRA Webcasts

Update The NCHRA event has been postponed.

I’ll co-present on Wednesday January 14 on an Employee Benefit News Web seminar, “Benefits communications: Don’t pull back.” Here’s the announcement from EBN:

The recession demands budget reductions across the board, but benefits communications is one area that shouldn’t be cut.

Learn why it’s even more important to stay “on message” during tough economic times and what you can do to make your communications even more effective in EBN’s next live Web seminar on Jan. 14, noon Eastern Time. Speakers Jennifer Benz, Benz Communications, and Danielle McCauley, Univers Workplace Benefits, will make the case for maintaining and even ramping up communications now to maintain worker morale and loyalty. They will then respond to audience questions.

I’ll share material from from our new white paper and talk about the keys to effective communication planning.

The Web seminar will broadcast on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at noon EST.

Also, on January 28, I’ll be speaking with Margaret O’Hanlon of re: Think Consulting on an NCHRA Webinar “Straight Talk in Tough Times.”

Employees need—and expect—you to communicate in times of change.

The recession is forcing companies to make tough choices and no one can predict what will come next. Your employees are the front line in your company’s financial success. Yet many companies allow employees to rely on the rumor mill, even when research clearly indicates that effective communications influence financial performance.

This timely Webinar will prepare you to:

  • Convince management to be more open
  • Develop a formal plan
  • Set a positive tone
  • Build trust, even when you don’t know what comes next
  • Respond quickly and understand the role of social media outside of your organization

Don’t allow the turmoil in your marketplace to influence your employees’ productivity. Take the time to ease employee stress, build critical commitment and lead through understanding.

This event will be held January 28 at 10am PT. For more information, visit idealist.org. Registration ends January 23.
